Congress Gains New Backers in Kakching as Kennedy Attacks BJP

Imphal: Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Kshetrimayum Kennedy welcomed a wave of new supporters to his party this week. These voters previously backed other political groups across various polling stations in Sora. The group gathered at Kennedy's residence in Kakching Makha Leikai to plot their next move. The meeting included MPCC General Secretary Bangkimchandra and several leaders from the Kakching Block Congress Committee.

Talk centered on the current political climate in Manipur and across the country. Kennedy did not hold back. He took aim at the ruling BJP and its partner, the National People's Party. He claimed these parties are actively deceiving the public. He argued that if the local MLA was actually doing the job, they would not need to chase votes so hard. Kennedy said, "If a capable representative had been serving as the MLA of Kakching Assembly Constituency, there would have been no need to struggle to seek votes again."

The criticism focused on tangible failures. Residents in Sora, Irengband, Bijoypur, and Pallel still lack clean drinking water. Roads across the constituency remain in a state of neglect. Kennedy stated that young people are fed up with these conditions. This frustration led them to switch sides. He called on the youth of Kakching to stand together against the NPP to protect the interests of Manipur.
