Meluri Election Officials Face Network and Staffing Hurdles

Kohima: Political parties in Meluri are struggling to update voter rolls. They hit a wall with poor network connectivity and too few staff members at the district election office. These issues threaten the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls currently underway. Representatives flagged these roadblocks during a meeting on October 13 at the Deputy Commissioner office.

ADC Shelly Katiry briefed Electoral Observer Akumla Chuba on the status of the local electorate. NPF President Riepetho spoke up about the office environment. He told officials, "the limited manpower was affecting the timely execution of official assignments." He also reported that the office lacks the basic equipment and materials needed to function properly.

Akumla Chuba called for teamwork. She wants Booth Level Agents to help the Booth Level Officers finish their tasks on time. Teams must focus on fixing errors, adding eligible voters, and removing ineligible names. The goal remains a transparent and accurate count for the 20 Meluri Assembly Constituency.
