GPRN/NSCN Urges Peace After Deadly Tribal Clash

Kohima: Huvito Yepthomi, Kilo Kilonser of GPRN/NSCN-Unification, condemned the recent violence between the Yimkhiung and Tikhir tribes in Dimapur. The clash left one person dead and destroyed property. Yepthomi labeled the events as being “deeply regrettable and wholly unwarranted, particularly at a critical juncture when the Naga people are earnestly striving for peace and an honourable, lasting settlement of the Indo-Naga political problem.”

He demanded both tribes show restraint. Violence solves nothing. The GPRN/NSCN leader insisted that any grievances move through customary channels rather than street fighting. He pushed for forgiveness and compassion to keep the peace between the two communities. Tension remains high.

Yepthomi also directed national workers from both tribes to stay neutral. He warned them to avoid any actions that could widen the divide or hurt the unity of Naga brotherhood. The message remains clear. Impartiality is the only way to stop the bloodshed and protect the future of these groups.
