Kohima: The Tikhir Gazetted Officers Association (TGOA) is hitting back at claims that its leaders bypassed protocol to pick a representative for the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA). Nine association members previously alleged that a March 10, 2026, letter to the ENPO president lacked proper consultation. The TGOA executive team flatly rejects this.
TGOA leadership states the process was transparent. A Tikhir Tribal Council meeting notice was posted to the official WhatsApp group on March 7, 2026. Representatives held a follow-up meeting on March 9. The president then cleared the final decision with the general secretary over the phone. The association insists that the March 10 meeting in Anatongre village was legitimate. Their representatives acted in good faith.
Disputes also surfaced regarding a September 1, 2026, meeting at Kiusam headquarters. Some members claimed the president and advisor signed documents without authorization. The TGOA leadership points to a meeting notice sent on August 30. They argue that attendance by the president and advisor was well within their official duties. No one raised concerns until this public fallout.
The association cites Article 7.1(b) of its constitution. This rule empowers the president to represent the group at public forums. Leadership insists the constitution was followed. They characterize the dissenters as a self-styled group ignoring internal grievance procedures. The board remains firm in its stance. "Accordingly, we hereby affirm that we stand by the position stated above and by the duly authorised actions, representations and decisions undertaken on behalf of the Association," they stated.
