Kohima: The Naga People’s Front gathered its leadership in Dimapur on September 17. The party held a seminar for its Press Bureau, frontal wings, and various cells to refine its political outreach and grassroots organization. The session prioritized legal awareness and internal readiness.
Secretary general Achumbemo Kikon pushed for better clarity on state policies. He warned that silence lets opposing narratives gain ground. Kikon told workers they must respond to allegations with facts. He said, “Party workers must have a clear understanding of government policies, programmes and development initiatives to communicate them effectively to the public.” The messaging needs to reach every level, from town wards to divisions.
The party is targeting younger voters. Kikon urged a professional shift toward digital platforms. He advised staff to verify information before hitting send. He also clarified the party’s stance on the FCRA amendment, which sits with the Joint Parliamentary Committee. Regarding the Vande Mataram debate, he asked members to explain Article 371A to avoid confusion. The NPF also plans to mark Foundation Day on October 21.
Vice president Lanukaba detailed the party's roots. He linked the first Naga split to the 1957 Naga People’s Convention. Press secretary Atou Liezietsu set a firm rule for communication. The party follows the principle of One Party, One Voice, One Channel. All official policy matters must route through the Press Bureau. The Bureau will now publish a bi-monthly magazine to educate supporters.
Other departments outlined their specific agendas. CM media secretary Ayieno Kechü tracks social media feedback for senior leadership. She warned against using AI manipulated content. The Legal Cell, led by Dr. Povotso Lohe, will set up branches in all 17 NPF divisions. Meanwhile, Minority Wing president Bishnu Bhattacharjee aims to provide job support for 50 youth in Dimapur. The Medical Cell and Farmers’ Wing also presented plans for community outreach and One District One Product implementation.
