Kohima: The Central Minority Wing of the Naga People’s Front gathered at the Dimapur Division Office on July 22, 2026. This coordination and orientation session brought together leaders from Dimapur I, II, and III, alongside Ghaspani I and II. Office bearers from both Dimapur and Chümoukedima divisions joined central party representatives. They came to work.
The meeting focused on discipline and grassroots reach. NPF Central Vice President N. R. Zeliang outlined strict organizational guidelines for all attendees. He urged the division and assembly constituency leaders to maintain close cooperation to consolidate the wing across Nagaland. Vihoshe Awomi, president of the NPF Dimapur Division, promised full support for these efforts.
Central Minority Wing President Bishnu Bhattacharjee pointed to the value of minority voters. He reaffirmed the wing's loyalty to Chief Minister and NPF President Dr. Neiphiu Rio and Secretary General Achumbemo Kikon. Other speakers included Central Youth Wing Vice President Neitho Khusoh and DMC member Mahesh Agarwal. The session was chaired by Mahendra Thousen. Keshok Momin provided the invocation, Apun Naben delivered the vote of thanks, and Anand Gurung offered the benediction.
Separately, party legislators met in Kohima with Dr. Neiphiu Rio to discuss the Naga political issue and recent natural disasters. The party leadership emphasized a need for collective action. Rio told the assembly, "Collective effort was essential to safeguard the interests of the people and achieve lasting peace and progress." The party now plans to expand membership and improve relief efforts for communities hit by recent storms.
