Kohima: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) revealed a financial base of Rs 6.98 crore following its merger with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP). This comes in the first audited accounts since the parties combined on October 21, 2025. The Election Commission of India formally recognized the union in May 2026.
For the 2025-26 financial year, the NPF reported Rs 95 lakh in voluntary contributions. This was the party’s only source of income. Total expenditure hit Rs 2.39 crore, resulting in a deficit of Rs 1.44 crore. Employee costs accounted for Rs 1.22 crore, while other expenses took up Rs 1.18 crore. Depreciation made up Rs 1.03 crore of the total spending.
As of March 31, 2026, the party held a capital fund of Rs 3.99 crore. Liabilities reached Rs 2.99 crore. These debts include Rs 2,99,05,776 owed to Apex Motor Enterprise. This debt previously appeared on the NDPP’s 2024-25 audit. Cash and bank balances stood at Rs 23.97 lakh.
The Election Commission requires details on donations over Rs 20,000. Despite the high contribution figures, the NPF report left this section empty. The party provided no names or identifying details for the source of their income. This continues a trend. The report noted that the "combined figures may not be directly comparable with NPF’s standalone accounts for the previous year."
Past records show a different history for the NDPP. They previously declared contributions from enterprises in 2022-23 and 2023-24. However, their 2024-25 disclosure listed nil in the above-Rs 20,000 category. The NPF has now maintained a similar pattern of zero disclosed donors in that bracket since 2022.
