Kohima: The Ao Officers Telungjem (AOT) wants an impartial, time-bound probe into accusations leveled at Kiphire Deputy Commissioner Temsuwati Longkumer. The organization issued a press release on October 24 after a representation against Longkumer went viral on October 1, 2026. Likumse Sangtam and Tsathrise Rudy submitted the document to the Commissioner of Nagaland.
AOT president Limasunep Jamir and general secretary Rongsenlemzung labeled the online backlash a trial by social media. They insisted that grievances must follow lawful channels rather than public character assassination. The group warned that these allegations remain unverified and lack backing from any competent authority.
Longkumer has worked for the Nagaland government for over 21 years. The AOT defended his record and urged the public to wait for the facts. The organization stated, "The reach of an allegation should never be mistaken for the strength of its evidence."
Officials confirmed Longkumer is ready to cooperate with any official investigation. He plans to present his records to the proper authorities. The AOT called on the media, civil groups, and social media users to stop the personal attacks. They claim such behavior threatens professional reputations and risks compromising a fair hearing. The group maintains its focus on institutional integrity and due process.
