Kiphire DC Orders Push for Social Security Schemes

Kohima: Deputy Commissioner Temsuwati Longkumer is pushing for better promotion of social security schemes across Kiphire. He wants the India Post Payment Bank and the Department of Posts to lead the charge. This directive follows specific orders from the Finance Department in Kohima.

The Post Office is rolling out new, affordable options. This includes the District Life Insurance Relief Programme and the Group Term Life Insurance Employee Plan. These programs target both public workers and regular citizens. Officials view the rollout as a high priority for the district.

All departments must name a single officer to handle the task. This follows the One Department One Executive initiative. Heads of offices need to send the nominee's name, title, phone number, and email address to the Kiphire Post Office. The deadline for these submissions is August 27, 2026. The deputy commissioner stated the work must be handled with urgency to "ensure effective outreach and coordination of the schemes."
