Kohima: St. Peter’s Parish in Kiphire hosted a day-long seminar on October 17. Around 200 young people from eight villages attended the event. The gathering focused on the theme: "Stand Firm in Your Faith, Be Courageous and Strong." Organizers aimed to deepen spiritual understanding and encourage participants to act as bold witnesses for Christ.
Rev. Fr. Vemedo Joseph Kezo, priest at St. Paul Church in Pungro Town, spoke about the connection between Bible teachings and church traditions. He explained how scripture and tradition work together to preserve church doctrine. It was a dense session. Following him, Rev. Fr. Luke Nagahoto of St. Peter’s Parish detailed the Sacrament of Baptism, describing it as the essential bedrock of the Christian life.
Rev. Fr. Thomas Toretkiu led the final session regarding the Sacrament of Marriage. He discussed the necessity of fidelity, mutual love, and the heavy responsibilities inherent in building a Christian family. He urged the attendees to remain steadfast. The event closed with an interactive session where youths submitted written questions to the priests to resolve their spiritual doubts.
