Kohima: Nagaland shifts its administrative gears on October 21. The state government will go live with the upgraded Personnel Information Management System, known as PIMS 2.0. Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen signed the official memo on October 17. The new platform replaces a system running since April 21, 2016.
Governance needs have changed. The state wants a modern, electronic human resource management system. Employees can access the portal at https://pims.nagaland.gov.in. PIMS 2.0 tracks the entire career of a state employee from their first day until they retire. It is a total overhaul of old procedures.
Administrative tasks move online. Staff will now handle fresh registrations, regularizations, and data fixes through the site, following rules set by the P&AR OM No. PAR/PIMS-2/2015 dated March 25, 2026. Clearing vacant posts and securing administrative permission moves digital too, complying with the P&AR OM No. PAR/PIMS-2/2015 dated September 15, 2025.
The system tracks more than just basic files. It manages leave requests and Annual Performance Appraisal Reports. The government states, "employee data housed within PIMS 2.0 will serve as the fundamental basis for computing salaries and other entitled services, as well as feeding into any other platforms determined by the state." Workers must create login credentials on the site to check records or request changes.
