Kohima: The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions confirmed the promotion of nine Nagaland Civil Service officers to the Indian Administrative Service on Friday. The induction covers vacancies occurring between January 1 and December 31, 2025, for the Nagaland cadre. Officials prepared the list on September 18, 2026, and granted final approval on October 19, 2026.

The newly appointed officers are Wonchio Odyuo, Elizabeth Ngully, Linda Solo, Yongchingkumla, S Tainiu, Sentiwapang Aier, Sara S Jamir, T Yanpvuthung Kikon, and T Wati Aier. Authorities placed these officers on probation until further orders. They will serve specifically within the Nagaland cadre.

The government executed these appointments under the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations of 1955. Officials consulted with the Nagaland state government throughout the process. Legal authority for the move stems from Rule 8(1) of the IAS (Recruitment) Rules of 1954, combined with Rule 3 of the IAS (Probation) Rules of 1954.

State leaders offered praise. Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton lauded the officers for their years of commitment to public welfare. Rajya Sabha MP Phangnon Konyak also shared her support for the transition. She stated, "Having served the state with dedication and sincerity, these officers will now take on greater responsibilities as IAS officers."
