Four Manipur Civil Service Officers Promoted to IAS

Imphal: The President of India promoted four Manipur Civil Service officers to the Indian Administrative Service. These moves fill vacancies set by the Centre and the Manipur government for the 2024 Select List. Official paperwork hit the wire on September 18, 2026.

The new IAS inductees are A. Romita Devi, who currently serves as Additional Secretary for CAF&PD and SCERT, and K. Bono Singh, Additional Secretary for Works and School Education. They join Kh. Lalmani Singh, Secretary of the Manipur Public Service Commission, and H. Balkrisna Singh. Balkrisna Singh holds roles as Additional Secretary for Home, Relief and Disaster Management and Project Director of the Loktak Development Authority.

These appointments fall under Rule 8(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, and Regulation 9(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Probation) Rules, 1954. The government confirmed the officers are "appointed on probation until further orders" and placed within the Manipur cadre. All assignments adhere to the IAS Cadre Rules of 1954.
