Kohima: The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) says Nagaland’s opposition-less government needs to start delivering real results. National Secretary S. Richard Humtsoe warned that political consensus cannot replace public accountability. The party demands the current coalition transform its legislative harmony into a clear, time-bound roadmap for growth.
Humtsoe made his position clear on October 12 in Dimapur. He argued that smaller parties backing the NPF-BJP-led administration must act as active partners. They cannot remain silent bystanders. As Humtsoe put it, "unconditional support is not a blank cheque."
Stability is not enough. Political unity does not automatically guarantee progress without a coherent strategy for the state. The LJP wants the ruling dispensation to establish annual targets and assign clear institutional responsibilities. They also expect regular performance evaluations to ensure the government stays on track.
The party pushed for a common vision framework covering five priority areas. These include reaching an honorable resolution to the Naga political issue and ensuring strict financial transparency. They also identified rural infrastructure, value-added agriculture, and job creation for youth as essential goals. For the LJP, the success of the alliance hinges on tangible improvements to the daily lives of citizens, not just political talk.
