Kohima: Wokha Village officials and the Department of Rural Development held a Jan Manthan Sabha on October 2. The event marked the Jan Manthan phase of the broader Reform Utsav 2026 initiative. Local residents, village council members, and government staff gathered to hammer out development priorities and fix broken public services.
ADC Wokha Renbomo Ezung served as the special guest for the assembly. He told the crowd that locals understand their own struggles better than anyone else. "The initiative provided an opportunity for the government to understand the concerns and needs of citizens," Ezung said. The program aligns with the goal of achieving a Viksit Bharat by 2047 using a bottom-up development model.
Nzanbemo Patton of the BBM Wokha Block explained the three-part structure of Reform Utsav 2026. The process moves from Jan Manthan, which is discovery, to Vimarsh, which is deliberation, and ends with Jan Samadhan, which is delivery. District Social Welfare Officer James Ezung urged residents to help turn their feedback into actual administrative changes.
Health concerns also took center stage. CMO Wokha Dr. Thungchanbemo Ezung told the villagers to get more involved with the Ayushman Bharat program. He pushed eligible people to coordinate with his office to secure their cards and use available medical benefits. The meeting wrapped up with an open interaction session where attendees aired their grievances and suggested improvements directly to department reps.
