Kohima: The Lotha Doctors Forum (LDF) saw 1,030 patients during a free medical camp at Dr Motsuo Memorial District Hospital in Wokha. The event held on October 24 marked the group's 25th anniversary. More than 50 doctors showed up. Specialists and super specialists from across Nagaland offered screenings and consultations to residents from Wokha and surrounding towns.
Doctors covered a massive range of fields. Patients received care for paediatrics, general medicine, cardiology, radiology, neurosurgery, dentistry, gynaecology, and paediatric surgery. Others sought help for ENT, psychiatry, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, pathology, and dermatology. Minor surgical procedures occurred on-site to assist those needing immediate attention. The forum specifically aimed to provide local care so people could avoid traveling out of the district for specialized help.
Many participants arrived from diverse backgrounds. Some patients with mobility issues even used wheelchairs to reach the doctors. The four founding members of the LDF joined the effort to mark the silver jubilee. Ahead of the event, the LDF invited the public to participate, stating they were "offered during the silver jubilee celebration" as part of the initiative to improve local health access.
