Atoizu Area Secures First Emergency Ambulance Service

Kohima: The Atoizu region finally has an ambulance. Khekishe Aye, a G.B. from New Market and owner of AWSA private security, donated the vehicle to the Kulolau Atoizumi Küqhakulu (KAK) on behalf of the Emlo-to block. He handed over the keys Monday during the Atoizu Sports Meet 2026 inaugural event in Chümoukedima.

The area has struggled for years with medical emergencies. Patients often failed to reach hospitals because of the lack of transportation and nearby clinics. Vikato I. Chish, the KAK information and media secretary, confirmed the donation addresses these specific gaps. "The ambulance would be a valuable asset to the community and help meet the long standing need for emergency transportation," he said.

Atoizu acts as the headquarters for the 32 Atoizu Assembly Constituency. Aye stated his goal was simple. He wants to help residents get medical care when they need it most. The KAK members accepted the gift, noting the massive impact it will have on local families.
