Kohima: The Central Nagaland Tribes Council is backing the Ao Senden in a fight for better healthcare. They want the State government to fix deep-rooted problems at Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital in Mokokchung. The clock is ticking. The government faces an October 31, 2026, deadline to meet these specific demands.
The facility serves Mokokchung and the surrounding region. Right now, it fails the people. Patients pay huge fees or travel far for basic tests because the hospital lacks staff and functional gear. The CNTC blamed administrative apathy and poor use of existing infrastructure for the decline.
They want action. The council ordered the Department of Health and Family Welfare to send a qualified specialist radiologist to the hospital immediately. They also demanded the state revoke all existing staff attachments and force doctors and nurses back to their official posts.
The government must open the new Block A right now. "The council said it would stand with the organisation in any further course of action necessary to secure accessible healthcare and uphold the dignity of the people in the region." The CNTC promised to support the Ao Senden if the state ignores these requirements.
