Kohima: The Ao Senden rejected the state Health and Family Welfare Department's response to an ultimatum regarding the radiodiagnosis specialist shortage at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) in Mokokchung. In a letter to the Principal Director of the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, the group dismissed the October 15, 2026, reply entirely.
Ao Senden Vice President Aowati and General Secretary Imtipokyim noted that the department ignored their request to keep the Senior Specialist Radiologist at IMDH until a replacement arrived. The doctor left the post following a directive issued on September 7, 2026. The organization maintains that a sonologist does not meet their requirements, stating, "nothing short of a Radiodiagnosis Specialist will be accepted at IMDH."
None of the demands issued in the September 16, 2026, ultimatum have been met. The group accused the department of prioritizing a display of power over patient care. The Ao Senden plans to initiate its own course of action on October 21, 2026, and warned the department it will be solely responsible for any trouble that follows.
