Ao Senden Refuses to Halt Mokokchung Hospital Protest

Kohima: The Ao Senden rejected government overtures to end its protest at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital on Saturday. State officials transferred a radiologist to the facility on October 30, 2026, under notification number MED-3/A/1/2006 (PT)/696. The move failed to satisfy the local organization.

The group sent a letter to the Commissioner and Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department via the Medical Superintendent. They acknowledged the new hire. However, they remain wary of past departmental behavior. Aowati and Imtipokyim signed the document as vice president and general secretary.

The union demands the immediate return of all attached doctors and nurses to their posts at IMDH. Every transferred staff member must also hand in their joining reports without delay. The letter stated, "not prepared to call off the agitation until all of our demands are met." The sit-in continues until the department complies with these requirements.
