Kohima: The Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) mourns the death of General (Retd) Thinoselie Keyho. They remembered the late leader as a patriot and a peacemaker. He worked hard for the Naga cause. The FNR released a statement in Dimapur on October 31 to honor his life.
Keyho consistently supported the reconciliation process. He believed all political groups and the public needed to unite. His convictions rested on the historical and political rights of the Naga people. He worried about the future of his community. He viewed unity as a requirement for survival.
The General traveled to Chiang Mai, Thailand, in August 2008 for vital peace talks. He faced many challenges on that trip. During the event, he shared a message that still rings true today. He stated, "Unless Nagas are willing to leave our differences and unite upon the principle of the Naga Plebiscite of 1951, our future looks dim."
His passing leaves a gap in leadership. The FNR offered prayers for the bereaved family. They invoked the promise of eternal life to provide comfort during this time of loss. The group officially recognized him as a faithful servant who stood firm until the end.
