Kohima: The NSCN-K (Khango-Vusshe) wants the focus back on the Naga political issue. They released a statement from their MIP office on October 26 in Dimapur. The group says the movement must not chase money or commercial interests. These things offer little toward the ultimate goal. The leadership argues that the struggle should stay fixed on the larger political question instead of short-term gains.
The group’s core mission is firm. They aim to preserve their unique identity and secure legitimate political rights. They want an honorable and mutually acceptable solution. The press release stressed that unity remains essential. The group noted, "This spirit of unity, perseverance, and collective sacrifice must remain our guiding creed until our political aspirations are meaningfully fulfilled."
They also addressed the status of non-Nagas living in the homeland. The group maintains that long-term residents engaged in lawful business deserve legal protection. They believe regulation must be reasonable rather than arbitrary. Protecting Naga identity does not require harming the rights of others. The movement needs to prioritize constructive engagement over controlling commerce. The group cautioned that peripheral issues must not overshadow the fight for political progress. They are pushing for a future built on dignity and lasting peace.
