Kohima: The NPGN/NNC (T Ovung) issued an urgent warning to business owners and the public in Dimapur. An individual named Kavi is shaking down firms for illegal taxes. He uses the NPGN/NNC name to pull off his scheme.
These collections have zero authorization. Kavi pockets the cash for his own bank account instead of reporting to the government. The organization wants no part of his personal hustle.
They issued a firm directive to the community regarding these unauthorized demands. "It has therefore advised all concerned to not entertain, engage with or remit any form of taxation to the individual concerned."
Anyone who ignores this warning does so at their own peril. The NPGN/NNC (T Ovung) will not take responsibility for any money lost. Do not pay this man.
