Khekishe Aye, the Gaon Bura of New Market Ward 19, praised the swift police work. The arrest signals that no group or person can use their position to shake down local businesses for cash.

"Illegal taxation in any form is unacceptable and must not be allowed to take root in New Market," Aye said. He believes the police action helps rebuild trust within the business community.
