Kohima: A delegation from the Naga Students Federation met with Ajit Lal, the Ministry of Home Affairs advisor for the Northeast, in New Delhi on Thursday, July 16. The students pushed the government to wrap up the ongoing Naga peace talks quickly and logically. They want a political solution for the decades-old issue.

The federation told the advisor to "sincerely" carry forward the ongoing peace talks and steer them towards a logical and early conclusion. The group warned that any deal must respect the deep-seated emotions and legitimate aspirations of the Naga people.

The meeting also covered the current state of unrest in the region. The students highlighted the ongoing Naga-Kuki conflict during their discussion. They demanded an immediate return to peace and stability. Ajit Lal, a former Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau, listened to the group and promised to investigate the matters they raised.
