Chingthur Foundation Graduates First Interns in Dimapur

Kohima: The Chingthur Foundation hosted its first Internship Completion Programme at the Agroforestry Training Centre in Karagaon. Two students from North East Christian University, Kevizhapu Terhuja and Keneisebei Meyase, finished the three-month course. They gained field experience in sustainable farming, agroforestry, and appropriate technology. The interns worked under Programme Manager Lungaithui Malangmei, who trained at ECHO Asia in Thailand and the Asian Rural Institute in Japan.

Executive Director Dingshungngamang Kamei thanked NECU for the partnership. He wants to keep working together to support rural growth. Malangmei delivered a report on the work completed, while the students shared their thoughts on the hands-on training. Chairman Pesha Khiamniungan told the group to stay grounded. He said, "remain humble, continue learning and put their acquired knowledge to meaningful use."

Registrar Vizeto Kin praised the interns for their hard work. He thanked the Foundation for linking students with global networks like ARI and ECHO. Kin noted the need for land-conscious, green practices. Officials handed out certificates to the graduates. The event wrapped up with a prayer and a community lunch.
