Kohima Closes Key Road Stretch for Pavement Construction

Kohima: District Magistrate B Henok Buchem ordered the closure of the road stretch from Medical College Junction to BSF Camp Road Junction in Kohima. The ban starts October 23 and runs through November 20. Work crews are installing concrete pavement. The project requires the road to be clear for safety. "The general public and commuters have been requested to extend their full cooperation and bear with the inconvenience caused," the official order stated.

All traffic stops. Construction necessitates the closure following a formal request from the Executive Engineer-I, Urban Engineering Wing-I, Nagaland, dated October 21. Heavy, light, and medium vehicles must take the detour via NH-29, running through Tinpatti, Don Bosco, and Kiyake/BSF Camp.

Local residents have a pass. Owners of light and medium vehicles living in the affected area can still use the stretch. The project site crew will regulate and monitor their movement throughout the construction phase.
