Kohima: Travelers face a major detour starting November 9. The route between Doyang and Asukhuto closes to all traffic through December 20, 2026. Construction crews need the space to finish work without constant delays.
ADC Atoizu Nukutul S Venuh issued the order to keep drivers safe. Falling rocks and mudslides pose a threat during excavation work between Khubokita and Asukhuto. The risk is high. Officials want to avoid potential casualties during the project.
Drivers must take the alternative route from Naghuto to Khubokita via Lhocheki, and vice versa, while crews occupy the main road. The ADC noted that "frequent vehicular movement along the Doyang-Asukhuto road was causing delays and hampering construction work." Everyone needs to follow these new traffic rules to keep the project on schedule.
