Kohima: Nagaland BJP president Benjamin Yepthomi trekked to Longleng on November 7. He brought state office bearers along for an organisational coordination meeting. They sat down with the district president, Mandal heads, and Morcha leaders to talk shop. The room was packed. Former minister Pangnyu Phom, former MLA Nyemli Phom, and former Phom People’s Council president Chingan Phom joined the heavy hitters.
The session zeroed in on party activities. They aimed to tighten coordination across the board. They want a tighter grip on the grassroots level. The meeting served as a recruitment drive as well. Several senior members crossed the aisle to join the party.
The state unit framed these new additions as proof of “growing confidence in its leadership, vision and commitment to the people.” This expansion marks a move to solidify their footprint in the district.
