Kohima: Longleng officials met October 6 at the DPDB Hall to set the district agenda. MLA B. Bangtick Phom chaired the session. The board formally advanced a plan to bring a blood storage unit and blood bank to the district. They sent the request up the chain for final approval. Police needs hit the table too. The board agreed to request extra police posts and forwarded that proposal to higher authorities. Sr. SP Yanger Jamir walked the room through the department's recent work. Beyond official business, the group planned a departmental tournament running October 29 through October 31. The Forest Department will lead the presentation at the next meeting.
Deadlines are looming. Deputy Commissioner W. Manpai Phom expects the Central Post Disaster Needs Assessment team on October 7. He told department heads to track all damaged properties now. The DC also tasked the PWD, Agriculture, and Medical departments with preparing data for the Governor's visit on October 8. On that same day, the Electoral Roll Observer will hold talks with EROs, AEROs, supervisors, and BLOs.
Urban Development officials showcased a sanitation plan focused on solid waste management. The district is also gearing up for the Paralympic Games. District Sports Council training begins late this month.
