Aizawl: The Asian Development Bank released the first slice of its $108 million loan package for Mizoram. The state government now holds Rs 205.49 crore. This money fuels the Universal Healthcare Scheme. It brings better medical access to locals.

Officials confirmed the payment on Saturday, November 7. The bank pushed $21.6 million to the Union Ministry of Finance back on October 29. Mizoram hit two key Disbursement Linked Indicators to unlock these funds. The Ministry moved the cash into the state account on November 5.

The financial breakdown splits the total into two distinct parts. Ten percent of the payment, or Rs 20.54 crore, counts as a loan. The remaining Rs 184.93 crore arrives as a grant. This covers 90 percent of the tranche. These funds support the implementation of the MUHCS, described by officials as "the state's universal healthcare initiative."
