Kohima: The Kohima District Magistrate ordered a 10-hour shutdown of the National Highway-2 Kohima-Mao section on Tuesday, August 4. The road closes from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Crews need to clear the Phesama sinking area. Boulders are falling. The National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, or NHIDCL PMU Jakhama, reported dangerous debris between Chainage Km 191+840 and Km 192+100.
Heavy motor vehicles face a total suspension during these hours. Manipur-bound heavy vehicles must take the route through Peren District. Light motor vehicles get a detour.
