Kohima: Crews in Phesama village are racing to clear the Dzüphileiyi road. They expect to finish earth-cutting work by the end of this month. This should finally get traffic moving again after the closure.

Construction work remains far from finished. Retaining walls and proper drainage systems still require significant labor. The ground is still unstable.

An official at the site told Nagaland Post that "initially, only small cars would be allowed to ply the road as the soil remains soft and may not withstand heavy vehicles." Heavier traffic must wait until the roadbed hardens and structural work finishes.
