Kohima: Wokha officials are closing Hospital Road to all vehicle traffic starting September 24. This restriction lasts 15 days. It covers the stretch from Molonsu Colony Junction to the Sub Jail and Tsumongo Ovung Residence Junction. Workers need space to fix the road.
The project falls under the 2nd Phase of the SASCI Urban initiative. Crews are upgrading the route from Government Higher Secondary School Junction to Bailey Baptist College. They plan to install paver blocks to fix the long-standing deplorable condition of the path. This work connects the District Hospital and the District Sub Jail Road.
Deputy Commissioner K. Mhathung Tsanglao issued a traffic advisory on September 23. Drivers heading toward the Civil Hospital must use Sub Jail Road as an alternate route during this period. The DC asked citizens to follow the rules so crews can finish the project. He stated: "The DC appealed to the public to cooperate and comply with the temporary traffic arrangement for smooth execution of the work."
