Kohima: The Fellowship of Naga Baptist Associations slammed the deadly ambush of five civilians along the IT Road in Kangpokpi district. The attack occurred between the Makui Ashang and Thanamba Naga villages. Five lives ended in the violence. The victims included a student leader, an educator, and youth representatives.
Church leaders denounced the violence. FNBA president Rev. Dr. Visor H. Zeliang, vice president Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, recorder Rev. Dr. P. James, joint recorder Rev. Dr. Yanbemo Lotha, and general secretary Rev. Dr. H. Gideon signed the condemnation note. They labeled the strike as “cold-blooded and barbaric.” The group stated, “There can be no justification for the deliberate killing of innocent civilians. Justice must be swift, firm and uncompromising.”
Authorities must act. The FNBA insists that the government identify, arrest, and prosecute every person involved in the massacre. They want the perpetrators charged under strict anti-terrorism and criminal laws. No armed faction should operate with impunity. The association also offered prayers for one person wounded in the attack and expressed condolences to the grieving families.
