Guwahati: Sivasagar police nabbed two suspected drug dealers during a raid on National Highway 37 at Kankan Nagar. Officers seized 79.04 grams of contraband from the pair. The men are Abu Hanif and Shariful Islam. They caught the suspects mid-transit.
The duo allegedly traveled from Nagaon to push narcotics in the district. They operated out of a rented house located near Bir Lachit Borphukan College. Sub-Inspector Debasish Sarma led the operation that shut down their supply line.
OC Babul Kumar Medhi assisted in the bust. Investigators are now tracking the origin of the seized stash to find other members of the trafficking network. Police are currently questioning the men to map out the operation. An official source stated, "The investigation now underway to ascertain the source of the seized drugs and identify others who may be connected to the alleged supply network."
