Kohima: The Eastern Naga National Organization marked its fifth anniversary this Wednesday. President MP Meyah Kedahge used the occasion to demand Eastern Naga reunification. He urged the youth to join the national cause. The group formed after failed unity efforts between the Naga National Council and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland.
Kedahge laid out the group's goals. They want to align with revolutionary forces fighting military dictatorships and bolster the Eastern Naga Army. He touted the traditional Naga democratic system, rejecting claims of monarchy or racial discrimination. The group views the NNC/FGN as its parent organization. They aim to protect national history from leaders who claim the movement surrendered. Kedahge stated, "The ENNO was also formed to establish alliances with revolutionary groups fighting military dictatorship and to build a strong Eastern Naga Army."
History tracks back to August 20, 2021, when organizers met at the Kohima Transit Peace Camp. They officially formed in Noklak on August 25, 2021, and ratified the move at Lang Nuk village on November 4, 2021. The group quickly moved to action. They sent over 50 youths to Kachinland for military training and formed an alliance with the Kachin Independence Army.
Kedahge claims the ENDA is now fully armed. He warned that the group’s power comes from discipline and trust, not just hardware. He pointed to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the 1955 start of the Naga conflict as proof of endurance. He credited divine intervention for saving the nation during the 1975 Shillong Accord. The president remains confident in a future victory.
