Mon Election Office Extends 2026 Voter Roll Revision

Kohima: Mon District Election Officer Wennyei Konyak issued a revised schedule for the 2026 Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The Election Commission of India extended the notice phase to accommodate more claims and objections. This window stays open until November 25.

The clock is ticking. Konyak ordered all Electoral Registration Officers and their assistants to wrap up pending tasks by the new deadline. Final publication of the electoral roll follows on November 30.

The DEO demands results. He told officials to alert every Booth Level Officer and supervisor in their zones immediately. "Konyak directed all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) to take note of the revised schedule and ensure that all pending activities related to SIR 2026 are completed within the stipulated timeline." Strict compliance remains the order of the day.
