Election Commission Pushes Nagaland Voter Roll Deadline to November 25

Kohima: The Election Commission pushed the deadline for filing claims and objections in Nagaland’s Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Residents now have until November 25 to submit their paperwork. The final rolls will drop on November 30.

Chief Electoral Officer Bhagyshree Banayat confirmed the change on October 30. The panel acted after hearing out the chief electoral officers. An official statement noted, "The Election Commission has extended the timeline for filing claims and objections in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Nagaland to November 25."

The revision covers a timeline stretching back to September 20. Nagaland is part of a larger administrative move involving four states and the Union Territory of Delhi. Officials set different closing dates for the remaining regions. The window shuts November 20 for Andhra Pradesh and Haryana. Telangana has until November 26. Every one of these states plans to wrap up and publish their final electoral rolls on November 30.
