Kohima: Election officials held training sessions for the 2026 Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls on July 21 in Meluri and Kiphire. Booth Level Officers and supervisors gathered to learn procedures for maintaining clean and accurate voter lists.
In Meluri, personnel from the 20 Assembly Constituency met at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. Deputy Commissioner Phuleshe K Yepthomi told the team to work with total sincerity. He demanded they verify the identity of every person before registration. He stated, "Clean Electoral Roll and Clean Elections" should be the guiding motto of the exercise.
EAC and AERO Pipfusa Pojar identified October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date for the revision. Master Trainer Amo Thurr walked the staff through the BLO App and assigned roles. The session finished with a period for questions.
Separately, 61 officials from the 59 Seyochung-Sitimi Assembly Constituency met at the Kiphire DC’s Conference Hall. Assistant Election Officer Aben Yanthan directed the group to remain impartial throughout the process. Master Trainer Atingse covered documentation needs and the revision schedule, while Assistant Programmer Suliba T Sangtam provided technical support. The training aims to ensure no eligible voter gets left out.
