Kohima: National Investigation Agency officers cuffed Sandeep Kumar Sinha on October 29. The arrest went down at Town Police Station in Vaishali, Bihar, around 10:30 pm. Agents seized his car along with mobile phones, SIM cards, and memory cards. Sinha stood accused of smuggling prohibited weapons like AK-47 rifles from Nagaland to Bihar. He aimed to wreck public peace and endanger national security.
The probe started after police found an AK-47, a lens, and live ammunition near Murghatiya Bridge. Fakuli Police Station in Muzaffarpur filed the original FIR on May 7, 2024. The NIA took the lead and officially filed case RC-11/2024/NIA/DLI. They previously busted four others before issuing three supplementary chargesheets against six suspects. Those charges involve the Indian Penal Code, the Arms Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The agency maintains its momentum. Previous arrests include Bhairav Tripathi on August 19, 2026, and Karamullah on August 22, 2026. "Further investigation into the case is underway," the agency said. Agents continue to track the network while building their case against the accused.
