Kohima: Unidentified assailants abducted rice hotel owner Altaf Hussain from New Market, Dimapur, on October 28. The abduction occurred at approximately 7 a.m. The New Market Business Owners Association (NMBOA) issued a formal condemnation of the crime through its Media Cell. Kidnappings sow fear among traders. The association insists that law enforcement must act now to find Hussain and arrest his captors.
Authorities need to bring those responsible to justice under the law. The NMBOA is calling on the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry to join them in a united front. They want cooperation to address the rising lawlessness. Business owners are on edge.
The association reached out to the Gaon Burah, the local ward councillor, and the wider New Market community for help. They urged anyone with information to step forward and assist investigators. "Such criminal activities had created fear and anxiety among the business community," the group stated. NMBOA members remain in solidarity with the victim and his family as they push for a safe return.
