Imphal: The KCP (Apunba) group accused the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Bishnupur of corruption. They want the resignation of Senior Scientist and Head Khangembam Brajamani Meitei within five days. Publicity Secretary Punsirol Meitei released a statement detailing the charges. He claims Brajamani holds an invalid PhD from CMJ University in Meghalaya.
The university closed in 2014 after a court ruling and a government order. The group questioned how Brajamani enrolled in 2017 to graduate by 2021. The group alleges that KVK Bishnupur Chairman Th. Chaoba Singh and Th. Basanta helped secure the appointment despite the academic fraud. These irregularities are serious. The group demands Brajamani step down on moral grounds.
They also warned others holding certificates from the dissolved university to quit their teaching jobs across Manipur. The group claims the KVK office has been paralyzed for some time. They intend to keep restrictions on the facility until it resumes operations in a lawful and proper manner. The militants sent a direct threat to the staff. "It also appealed to KVK staff to stop attending the office, warning of consequences for those who acted against the group's position."
The organization claims to have identified more people involved in similar schemes. They want these individuals to admit their actions voluntarily before further action occurs.
