Imphal: The Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (ALT) is sounding the alarm on a staffing crisis at Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School. The government school currently has only five teachers to manage 63 students. This institution serves the Anal Naga community along with neighbouring Meitei and Kuki families. Public trust remains high here, even as local parents increasingly shift children toward private education.

The union says repeated appeals to the authorities have led nowhere. The Anal Naga Students' Union met with district leadership on 27 August 2026 to force a fix. The Chandel Deputy Commissioner ordered the Additional District Magistrate to task the Sub-Divisional Officer of Chakpikarong with a field inspection. That report never arrived. Nobody inspected the site.

The ALT now questions if the ADM ignored the order or if the SDO simply refused to do the work. This administrative stalling threatens the academic future of every student enrolled. The union did not mince words regarding the current state of local governance, stating, "In an era where most parents prefer private institutions, an enrolment of 80 students in a government higher secondary school is a clear testament to the trust and confidence the public holds in Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School."

The group slammed the district administration for failing to act. They labeled the situation a sign of incompetence. The union told officials to stop the delays and act like responsible public servants rather than performers in a circus. District officials have yet to respond to these claims.
