Imphal: Manipur is dropping 4 crore rupees to bankroll coaching for local students. The state government wants more residents to pass civil services, medical, and engineering exams. It is a big bet on the future. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh confirmed Thursday that 400 aspirants will get help through the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme. This package includes 2.80 crore rupees from state coffers and an extra 1.2 crore rupees from the ALS IAS corporate social responsibility fund.

Students must act fast. The deadline to apply for the screening test is October 25, 2026. The exam follows on November 1, 2026, and the government is waiving all application fees. The state also signed two separate deals to handle medical and engineering training.

Former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh oversaw the signing of these agreements. Director of Education Laishram Nandakumar Singh signed for the state. Deputy National Academics Director Sarvesh Chaubey represented Aakash Educational Services Limited, while National Head of Admissions Samir Kumar signed for FIITJEE Limited. The government handed out tablets to help students access interactive online classes.

Officials will pick up the entire tab for those who qualify for NEET or JEE. The state wants these students to work hard. The government stated, "It urged the students to prepare seriously for the upcoming entrance examinations."
