Imphal: Five major student organizations rallied at Yaipha Thouni Sanglen in Keishampat today. They hit back at police for cracking down on nationwide protests over the NEET question paper leak. The All Manipur Students Union, Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur, Kangleipak Students Association, Students Union of Kangleipak, and Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup led the event. They want Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to step down.
DESAM president Oinam Romesh blasted the authorities. He spoke to the media about the situation. He specifically condemned what he called the "brutal police action" against students in New Delhi. Romesh argued that these young people just want justice for peers whose futures remain at risk due to the scandal. He noted that reports of students dying by suicide have only fueled the public rage.
Protesters held signs reading No Paper Leak, No Dark Future, Union Education Minister Resign, Truth Cannot Bleed, and We Stand for a Bright Future. Romesh warned politicians not to hijack this movement. He insists this remains a genuine fight for the rights of the student community. The groups continue to push for total transparency and government accountability.
