Imphal: Twelve candidates from Manipur earned job placements in Japan this week. The selection followed a recruitment drive held at the National Skill Development Corporation International Academy at Manipur University.
Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met with delegates from Zenken Corporation and six Japanese social welfare firms at his secretariat in Imphal on October 23. This project received backing from the state Department of Skills, Labour, Employment and Entrepreneurship.
The successful candidates will work for Fukushi Gakudan, Gasshoen, Goshiki, Life no Gakkou, Mineyama, or Kuneikai. These are the six social welfare corporations participating in the hiring initiative.
The Chief Minister noted that over 230 people from the state already hold jobs across Japan. "The state government would extend all possible support to young people seeking employment opportunities in Japan," he stated. He added that the government plans to start training programs for local truck and taxi drivers interested in overseas work.
SLEE Secretary N. Bandana Devi and NSDC officer Masotmi Zimik attended the meeting. Japanese representatives included IIDA Daisuke, Kamio Masashi, Iwaya Katsuyoshi, Okamoto Yusuke, Shimizu Mami, Nakagawa Yukari, and Heidy Nerissa Putri.
