Imphal: Security forces arrested three men and seized a stockpile of illegal weapons during a 48-hour crackdown across Manipur. Police, the Central Reserve Police Force, and the Assam Rifles conducted separate operations to track down insurgents and violent offenders.

In Imphal West, a commando unit from Khabeisoi arrested 32-year-old Moirangthem Nelson Meitei, alias Mani. He is an alleged member of the banned People's Liberation Army and was apprehended at his home within the Singjamei Police Station jurisdiction. Meanwhile, Thoubal Police detained a key suspect tied to recent mob violence in the Khangabok-Sangaiyumpham area. A court remanded this individual to police custody for 10 days. During subsequent searches in that area, officers recovered a Double-Barrel Breech-Loading gun and 14 shotgun shells.

Churachandpur authorities took 32-year-old Kamjau Vaiphei into custody at Thingkangphai village for alleged extortion. He was carrying a looted 9mm automatic pistol at the time. Vaiphei led investigators to a site near Teijang village where the team recovered an AK-47, an SLR, and several rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.

The Assam Rifles pushed ahead with Operation Khojbeen in the Phailengkot area. This sweep netted a .22 rifle, a Carbine Machine Gun, a Japanese pistol, various magazines, and a suspected IED. Officials confirmed all recovered items are undergoing forensic testing. "The recovered items had been sent for forensic examination as search operations continued," authorities stated. Search teams remain active on the ground.
