KCP Accuses Manipur Officials of Siphoning Farm Funds

Imphal: The KCP People's War Group claims a massive corruption scheme is bleeding Manipur agriculture dry. Officials and middlemen are allegedly siphoning off 80 percent of sanctioned government money. Only 20 percent reaches the actual farmers.

Comrade Lenin Meitei, the outfit's secretary, issued a statement detailing the theft. He claims the Agriculture Department works closely with specific supply firms. The group pointed to a former nodal officer with deep ties to a business operation based at Nongmeibung, Rajbari. These departmental officials reportedly maintain backroom deals with 24 different supply farms to distribute substandard materials.

The group raised these concerns in late 2024. They demanded immediate corrective action. Nobody listened. The outfit stated, "The KCP People's War Group warned that continued irregularities could invite stronger action."

Farmers across both hill and valley districts are paying the price. They are missing out on essential support promised under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana. The group says they are finished with talk if the state fails to stop the looting.
