Imphal: The Kangleipak Communist Party confirmed the death of Lance Corporal Soraisham Meiraba. He was also known as Jason. The cadre succumbed to wounds from an armed battle on October 29. The gunfight erupted at Panmang Thangba Lansang as he faced off against opposing forces.
Meiraba, son of Soraisham Biswajit and Soraisham Ongbi Memi Leima, was a graduate from Khurai Chingangbam Leikai. He was the youngest of three children. The fighter joined the party in June 2024 and wrapped up the 23rd batch of Basic Military Training on September 23, 2024. After training, he served in the Hirachandra Force Company under Miyamgi Fingang Lanmi, the armed wing of the organization. His army number was 709.
Media Coordinator A. Luwangba released a statement on October 30. The party praised his courage and commitment. It stated, "His death was a major loss to the organisation and expressed solidarity with his bereaved family."
